Ooooh! OPI Space Shine has finally launched and I tell ya what, I haven't been this excited nigh a product launch in a really long time. I love OPI. I can't help it. It'due south my favourite. And this Infinite Shine is supposed to be OPI'due south answer to long-wearing polish. Yes, polish. Information technology'south not gel. It'south polish.

This here post is a long one - go a cuppa java 'due north a sammich 'north have a seat! While y'all're reading and looking at all the pictures, yous'll need to keep in mind that one shift at work for me (and for my awesome polish-tester Amanda) is probably equal to about three days of normal clothing for most people. My easily are crazy decorated existence stuck in chemicals and water and scraping up confronting all manner of things. They're abused. A lot.

Then what is OPI Space Shine? Well, there are three components – base of operations, color, top. You paint 'em all on like you do with any regular polish. Then y'all wear it. And so you take information technology all off with acetone like you would any regular polish. Easy, right?

I know lots of you are getting tired of waiting patiently for reviews to roll out and so what have I decided to do for you? I've decided to do a review every bit I'k wearing the stuff and you tin can merely look at the twenty-four hours by day pictures as I take them. I'll update daily (hopefully) until I can't stand up it and take to take it off. How 'bout that! I've tested the ruddy I got – it's called OPI Infinite Smooth Unequivocally Carmine and information technology'southward a solid poppy red. Yes, yous probably have a dupe but I ain't interested in dupes. I'm interested in wear time.

Here's the shot right after I put on the base, two coats of colour (beautifully pigmented, slightly thin, shiny, and awesomely quick to dry out, so be fast and fifty-fifty in your awarding), and one coat of top. The height coat needs to be applied a little thicker than you think to get good coverage and decent level. Unequivocally Crimson goes on splendidly. It's a nice flowy polish that just goes exactly where you want information technology to. Instructions say to use 2 coats, so use ii coats. I did go some colour transfer from my colour glaze to my acme glaze castor; don't be surprised if the same happens to you.

Oh. That's day three on my left hand. My left is not my dominant hand and then if that's the wear on my left… yes – I couldn't bear to show yous my correct. It wasn't pretty.

There's my left once again – y'all can see the wear at the tips. Ugh. Too much vesture after just 3 days. I know the pictures are fuzzy but it's wicked difficult to focus my phone on such a puny little expanse… sorry! I had to take information technology off and I didn't have whatever staining or nuthin'. It was only three days - booooo. Still shiny though! Did I mention I have a shine tester? Aye, I practice. Her name is Amanda and she'due south kind of a smash polish nut then information technology works out well for both of united states. We work together and so I know her nails are going through pretty much the same thing mine are. She wears the stuff, she comes to piece of work, I shoot the stuff. The lighting in confined is notoriously not good so once again, excuse the crummy photos.

Amanda's not-dominant left hand afterward iv days. She somehow managed to wearable information technology longer than I did, and neither of usa is a fan of chipped polish. What a trooper she is, right? She shows pretty expert lasting ability at the free edge of most nails merely that centre nail – that'd brand me crazy!

Amanda after six days of wear, removal, and a shower. Oh, hello totally red stained side walls and cuticles. To me, this is totally unacceptable. The base coat might take protected her nail beds from heavy staining (they're however stained though) merely it did nothing to protect the rest of her finger parts from becoming Unequivocally Crimson. Nosotros're done with this shade. For Amanda and for me, it'southward a fail. Information technology'due south pretty 'n everything when you first put it on, just it wears like any other regular smooth and it stains. Pass.

So let's move on to shade number two! It'due south called Withstands the Test of Thyme and I guess we'll see if it really does or non, huh?

Here'south me with my initial application on my left hand. Base, two coats of rather thick gloopy consistency colour coat, and one generous coat of acme coat. You lot can see the uneven line around the cuticle of my centre finger – like I said, the polish was thick and not then flowy so I didn't get the cleanest lines. I apparently also missed a spot on the gratis-edge of my pollex. Ooops.

Mean solar day ii on my left thumb looks similar this. I scratched it somewhere and from near vantage points, information technology'southward really unnoticeable.

See – you can inappreciably see them thumb boom scratches, right? And y'all can also barely come across the wear at the tip of my index finger, right? Cracking because I slapped this stuff on at 3pm, rolled out to piece of work at 4pm and and then worked a few hours.

If we look at it from this angle, we can see the edge at the tip of my index is actually a little worse than you remember. Barely visible if you lot're looking at information technology with your eyeballs just with a photo, information technology shows remarkably well.

Left index wear again – see? Hardly visible and totally tolerable wear showing on mean solar day 2.

Let'south have a look at my right hand! It's my dominant and it definitely shows more article of clothing on day 2 than my left does. I mean it'due south not terrible just if you know me, y'all know I think any chips or wear is pretty much intolerable.

There'south all the stuff I tin can see that makes me crazy. There'due south besides small-scale vesture on the pinky only no chips – but clothing. You know I capped the gratis edges real good, correct? It's how I do.

Oh – lookit all that article of clothing on only day two. It looks worse than information technology is though, and I'll wear information technology again tonight for a full 8 hours and shoot again tomorrow morning. You gonna evidence upward to come across what day 3 looks like? I know I am!

Correct now Amanda has the canteen of Withstands the Test of Thyme and she's but slapped it on and sent me a moving-picture show! She says it went on pretty well and she waited i minute before topcoating. Information technology looks good! No streaks, dainty level, and she capped the free edges. Tomorrow she promises to send more pictures!

I mentioned Amanda works with me right? Well she also works somewhere else and at that place, at that place'due south no rotating glass-washing machine and so it's hands in h2o for waaaaay too much time than whatever hands deserve. She's right handed. You can tell from what happened...

Here's Amanda's day 2 left - she put the stuff on only yesterday morning and after working her viii hours behind the bar last nighttime and her six hours on the flooring today, it looks pretty much perfect! That's 14 hours of nail smooth hardship and I gotta say I'grand impressed with this total lack of wear on her left hand 'cause I really understand what she'due south been doin' with them hands.

And her right. Oh. Water is the enemy of all nails and boom products. Water = death to polish. Water = evil. Amanda tells me in that location is a small dissever in her centre finger nail that was already at that place and that'south what accounts for that nice large flake. She also says that nail is very thin in that spot. I say nope - polish should stick and be flexible enough to bend with your nail instead of chip - that is if you utilize your hands for normal things. We don't utilise our hands for normal things. We shell the crap out of our correct hands - nosotros use them badly for eight solid hours and if a smoothen lasts though a single eight hr shift, yeah... that just doesn't happen. In our world (believe it or not) this is pretty close to lasting through an 8 60 minutes shift. This consequence is actually stellar for us. I know y'all're having trouble assertive that but if you saw what regular-normal polish looked like after 8 hours, yous'd exist stunned.

The results of that shift are actually a little surprising. Normally, the wear on my right with any other smooth would be waaaay further downwardly and there would be chips...

My non-dominant left day 3: There's a lilliputian tiny bit more vesture at the complimentary edge of my index and a very slight amount of wear starting on my heart.

My non-dominant left thumb day 3: the scratches from yesterday are however at that place and nonetheless nearly invisible but apparently, I have a new chip-scratch in a really weird spot.

My dominant right 24-hour interval 3: that's definitely more vesture at the tips.

My ascendant right 24-hour interval 3: it'south near besides much for me to handle. But mostly, it just looks like wear and not chips. And information technology'southward far less than I thought information technology'd be after 2 shifts at work. You lot gotta go on in mind that what I use my hands for is more than than probable not what you lot apply yours for (unless you're also a bartender or always have wet hands). If this was a darker shade, this kind of habiliment would be 100% unacceptable and I'd accept removed it past now. The lighter the shade, the less evident the wearable at the tips is. Wear on lighter shades is much less visible to the naked eye so proceed that in mind. Photos prove the wear real good!

My dominant right thumb day 3: there'due south vesture and possibly a couple puny fries at the free edge in that location - information technology's almost invisible to the eyeball merely it shows upwardly very well in a photo. And at that place's a new scratch likewise. I'ma struggle through another 24-hour interval with this polish and I'll see you tomorrow to bear witness you what Day 4 looks similar! My not-dominant left on day iv: that's actually pocket-sized tip vesture showing on the index finger and the middle tip shows starting signs of real clothing. Interesting how the wearable doesn't seem to have progressed between yesterday and today - even after a total night of work. It's like it all just stopped. It's almost like I didn't use my hands at all last night only I did. I actually, really did. Kinda cracking, huh?

And my left thumb: really not much movement on that wearable either. The scratches are all the same barely visible and my weirdly placed chip-scratch is maybe microscopically bigger but really no discernible differences between yesterday and today. Like, what?

And the final day 4 shot of my left hand looks similar this. Remember I said the photographic camera picks up waaaaay more than imperfections than your eyeballz do? I shot this in eyeball perspective for you! Fascinating, correct? It looks like a brand new manicure that I just did! One thousand'caput 'due north scroll dorsum to compare information technology to the twenty-four hour period ane photo - amazeballz! If you lot click this prototype to go far bigger, you'll encounter the bear upon of wear on my thumbnail and on my alphabetize finger. There'southward really minor wearable starting on my middle finger and in that location's a little chip on the edge of my band finger that I didn't even notice before. Colour me amazed. Seriously. That'south 4 days. 4 days for me is similar vii days for you. Trust me. Amazed.

Just we should maybe look at my dominant correct hand on day 4 huh? I'g not gonna put those circle things on this picture because I'm pretty certain you can see the article of clothing. It has progressed a piddling more and is enough clothing 'n tear for me to Need to remove this polish.

This part is actually important to notation: I gotta tell you lot that this wear you see on day iv with OPI Infinite Polish is the wear I normally become on day 1 with any other regular polish/top coat combo. True story. If I paint on some regular OPI and get to piece of work, after one 8 hr shift my right paw nails expect exactly like this and off the polish comes. Merely this is Iv days!!! Like, what? Yes - for me, this stuff lasted FOUR times longer than regular smooth.

And here's my right thumb: it shows marginally more tip wear than it did yesterday but again, afterwards working some other viii hours on top, I'd expected it to be much, much, much worse. What kind of scientific discipline is this??

Finally, the normal perspective view of my day 4 of Infinite Shine Withstands the Test of Thyme. The close-upward shots really prove the wear but with a lite shade like this, if I was maybe someone else, I could still handle wearing this for another 24-hour interval. From arms length, the wear is actually pretty small-scale and in that location are no significant chips like the ones Amanda shows on Day two (she'southward been in more than water than me though). That black thing on my ring fingernail is just lint. But to me, this amount of vesture is too much. Information technology'southward making me nuts. Off it comes!

so what do i really retrieve?

I think OPI Infinite Shine is stupendous! I also think the "long-wearing-ness" might depend on the shade and formula of the colour coat when combined with the top glaze.

I also think that but like the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, the magic is actually in the height coat. My theory is that because this top glaze "cures" (which really ways hardens) best in full spectrum UV calorie-free (which just actually comes from the sun and not from a UV lamp), that without sunlight, information technology takes a long time to set up difficult enough then you experience zero tip wear at all. What I hateful is that if I had done my nails the mean solar day before I went to work for a full viii hours, I think I would have shown far less article of clothing at the free edges of my right hand.

If I look at the near total lack of vesture on my left as compared to my right, it follows that if my right had more than time to "cure" from all the artificial low-cal sources around me, it would have made it through the four days in much better condition even though I used the crap outta that hand.

I think if y'all don't have the task I practise, you lot tin can practice your nails whenever you lot want, sleep, become up and do your matter and become a skilful 6 or seven or 10 days of wear. I really, actually think that. It's upwards to you to allow me know if I'm right. You'll let me know how it goes for you, won't yous?

I tell ya what -- I think this stuff is equal to the magic that'south blimp into the Emerge Hansen Miracle Gel summit coat. If I'd been able to stick my nails out into the sunshine for v minutes immediately later on polishing, I call up it would take gear up up much meliorate and lasted wear-free much amend too. Just it's been cloudy and cold and snow-rainy and crap out then I couldn't get any of that good UV from the sky to examination my theory. I'chiliad pretty sure I'm right though.

I'm even so testing. There are combinations of regular polish and Infinite Shine that need to be checked out and I'g on information technology. Or maybe Amanda is on it. You lot'll accept to hang out to run into what nosotros're upwards to. I'm too hoping for a few more pictures from Amanda to see how her day three worked out.

It'southward amazing to come across the massive differences between our dominant and non-dominant hands isn't it?
